Date:
August 5, 2009 - 2:00pm - 3:15pm
Presenter(s):

Truancy is centrally connected with many important issues: low attendance, dropout, gang involvement, juvenile crime, mental health problems, and poor academic performance. Beyond simple collaboration, effective teamwork is needed to reduce truancy and its related problems. Two SS/HS Project Directors will discuss how they created the teamwork needed to reduce truancy and improve their communities. Their teamwork was built by engaging key stakeholders, identifying and enhancing existing resources, working with youth and families, and effectively integrating services.
