National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services in Health Care

This report recommends national standards for culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS) in health care. It is divided in to four sections: Part I provides background on the importance of cultural competence in health care; Part II contains the 14 CLAS standards; Part III summarizes the process for developing and revising the CLAS standards; and Part IV includes a glossary of terms found within the standards.
