Effectiveness of Universal School-Based Programs for the Prevention of Violent and Aggressive Behavior
This report offers a systematic review of published scientific evidence concerning the effectiveness of universal school-based programs that reduce or prevent violent and aggressive behavior among children and adolescents. These include programs that teach students about the problem of violence and its prevention or about one or more of the following topics: emotional self awareness, emotional control, and self-esteem; positive social skills; social problem solving; conflict resolution; and team work.
