The CDC Model Integrated with an SS/HS Initiative

After the CDC model of Coordinated School Health Programs (CSHP) is articulated, two SS/HS sites will describe how after establishing a coordinated school health program with local advisory councils, each community was able to integrate many elements of their CSHP into their Safe Schools/ Healthy Students Initiative. With the strength of both programs, the communities are now in a better position to sustain both initiatives.

Examples of this approach will include an urban district which developed their initiative from an educational perspective, and a rural area which developed their initiative from the health perspective, reaching many of the same outcomes.
