Date/Time (ET):
March 19, 2012 - 2:00pm - 3:30pm
Led By:
National Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention

The second webinar will focus on the provision of integrated school mental health services, student intervention teams, information sharing and collaboration, and sustainability strategies through school district and community providers. Two 2007 project directors will share practical strategies from their initiatives: Cathy Lounsbury, Sanford, Maine, and Suzanne Masland, Lyndonville, VT. During the series, participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of potential state and local funding strategies that are available to sustain school mental health programs
  • Discuss current challenges and potential options to obtain counseling resources from your community to support and sustain school mental health programs
  • Discuss strategies and lessons learned in the provision of funding to sustain school mental health programs through public and private mental health providers
  • Learn strategies to incorporate effective professional development for school staff and realignment of school staff as counselors vs. guidance
  • Learn about partnerships with colleges and universities as a resource to provide student internships and counseling services in schools

The webinar is designed for you to learn strategies from your fellow project directors, ask questions, share ideas, and network with your peers! Please feel free to invite your community mental health partner, district finance and/or director of student support services, or others who are assisting you with mental health sustainability to participate in this informative webinar.
