January, 2006 This report analyzes adult and juvenile arrest rates based on the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports, and is the first study to calculate national estimates of juvenile crime from 1975-2005. It examines trends in violent and non-violent crime for adults, young adults, and children. The report also analyzes differences in the number of arrests based upon race and socioeconomic status and discusses community-based prevention strategies.
