This publication presents data from the annual back-to-school survey conducted by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University. The survey tracks attitudes of teens and parents, with the goal of identifying factors that influence the likelihood of teen substance abuse. This report presents survey findings on alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drug use, and suggests parents' role in decreasing the likelihood that their children will use substances.
