This issue brief analyzes recent proposals to change Medicaid for consumers with mental illnesses. According to the authors, drastic changes in Medicaid are unnecessary and unwise; rather, improvements to the current system would cover more uninsured citizens and avoid endangering the benefits of those already receiving Medicaid.
