This policy brief discusses how cultural heritage organizations serve their communities. It looks at the different types of cultural heritage organizations and analyzes them by size; revenues; sources of revenues by race/ethnic affiliation; primary program activities by race/ethnic affiliation; and makes some conclusions on characteristics of cultural heritage organizations that should be taken into account to better support them in their service to communities.
