This study found that pediatricians who used a five-minute questionnaire, which includes items that asked parents about the mood or response of their 1-year-old children, were able to identify 32 cases of autism-spectrum disorder and 101 cases that might be related to other developmental delays or conditions. The screening test had a positive predictive value of 75%.
