This report highlights specific competencies in the areas of social, cognitive, and psychological development that research has identified as necessary for a person to become a valued and skilled employee. The competencies are organized into five domains of youth development: physical, psychological, social, cognitive, and spiritual. The report also identifies strategies that high schools can use to help young adults develop these competencies.
