April, 2009 This new research brief draws on the latest Census data to present two new estimates of poverty rates for children by using measures that differ from those currently used by the federal government to determine official poverty thresholds. Using this data, the brief examines differences in poverty rates between children in immigrant families and children in native-born families in the U.S.
