This bulletin summarizes the research team's review of social science literature on factors impacting girls' delinquency and notes their policy and program implications. The bulletin identifies eight factors correlated with girls' delinquency: negative and critical mothers, harsh discipline, inconsistent discipline, family conflict, frequent family moves, multiple caregivers, longer periods of time with a single parent, and growing up in socioeconomically disadvantaged families.
