America's Cradle to Prison Pipeline

This report analyzes how risks such as lack of access to health and mental healthcare, child abuse or neglect, and lack of quality early childhood education often impact children at crucial points in their development, making involvement in the criminal justice system significantly more likely. It provides statistics on key factors contributing to incarceration, case studies on children at risk, selected data from 50 states, examples of promising approaches, and recommendations and key action steps needed to be taken to address the cradle to prison pipeline.
