Publisher:
The National Child Traumatic Stress Network and the National Center for PTSD

The Psychological First Aid Field Operations Guide, is an evidence-informed modular intervention to help children, adolescents, adults, and families in the immediate aftermath of disaster and terrorism. PFA is designed to reduce initial distress caused by disasters, and to foster short- and long-term adaptive functioning and coping. PFA can be delivered by mental health and other disaster response workers who provide early assistance to affected children, families and adults as part of an organized disaster response effort.

The guide is available at the The National Child Traumatic Stress Network website. exit disclaimer icon
