2013 SS/HS Leadership Academy

Date/Time:
January 23, 2013 (All day) - January 24, 2013 (All day)
Location:
Bethesda, Maryland
Led By:
The National Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention

The purpose of the SS/HS Leadership Academy was to broaden the impact of the Safe Schools/Healthy Students initiative by providing training and technical assistance to help local and state leaders improve their skills for sustaining and disseminating this interagency collaborative model that has produced positive outcomes throughout the country. The Academy included a reflection of what we have learned and the successes of SS/HS communities, a look at what is on the horizon for interagency collaborative efforts at the local, state, and federal levels, and opportunities to learn from others’ success in leading sustainability efforts and expanding the reach and impact of SS/HS.

The Academy was attended by FY 2008 and FY 2009 SS/HS grantee sites. Each grantee site was invited to bring up to two people who are key leaders and champions of your community’s work such as a Core Management Team member, or a representative from a local, county or state agency.
