Support Services for LGBTQ Youth is a program of the Student Support Services Department of the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). Its goal is to provide school site resources and district support to meet the needs of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth and families. Support Services for LGBTQ Youth is completely integrated within SFUSD and collaborates with other programs to make schools safer for all students including gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students.

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) works with educators, policy makers, community leaders and students to address anti-LGBT behavior and bias in schools. GLSEN strives to protect students from bullying and harassment, to advance comprehensive safe schools laws and policies, to empower principals to make their schools safer, and to build the skills of educators to teach respect for all people.

Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG)

Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) is a national non-profit organization with over 200,000 members and supporters and over 500 affiliates in the United States. PFLAG supports LGBT people, their families and friends locally and nationally by providing PFLAG chapter helplines, support group meetings and resources. PFLAG also educates families and communities on sexual orientation, gender identity and LGBT issues.
