CASEL Teleconference

Date/Time (ET):
March 14, 2007 - 3:00pm - 4:30pm
Led By:
National Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention

During this teleconference, we define social and emotional learning (SEL) and discuss cutting-edge research on the link between SEL and student outcomes, with a particular focus on academics. The call addresses the potential impacts on educators who implement SEL programming (e.g., changes in instructional practices, decreased turn-over, increased morale, etc). This teleconference provides SS/HS sites with tools to engage partners in SEL/prevention programming as we explore how these research findings can be used to create a common language across partners and support the work of the SS/HS sites. WeGo Together for Kids (a 2005 SS/HS grantee) briefly shares how they are using SEL concepts to achieve the goals of their project.
