Strengthening Families: Protective Factors Brief

This brief summarizes the current literature on protective factors that help parents find resources or coping strategies to parent effectively, even under stress.  The resource discusses five protective factors, including parental resilience, social connections, knowledge of parenting and child development, concrete support in times of need, and social/emotional competence of children.
