On Day-1 begins with a full day workshop with Dr. Paul Elam reviewing a high-level perspective on key strategies and tactics for effectively preventing and reducing delinquency and crime among youth and adolescents. In the workshop he will work with participants to understand key components essential for effective programs that are based on evidence-based practices and strategies for engaging youth and adolescents to prevent and reduce delinquency and crime.

On Day-2 participants will spend some time on the "business" of working with youth and the human services field that is so often lost as we bury ourselves in our work! We will work with renowned author and expert, Dr. Dan Edwards who will spend a full-day on Evidence-based Programs specifically, on promise they hold, what works or what does not. His agency has pioneered the application of highly successful EBP programs for juveniles in the state of Florida. Participants will learn to determine which programs are best suited for addressing their individual local situations. Finally they will learn to integrate what is learned into their existing situations, what obstacles to anticipate and how they may go about overcome them. Finally on Day-3 Mark Lowis, MSW, LMSW, MINT works with us on strength-based practices of Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive-Behavioral. In particular he will review how these approaches factor and are integrated into Case Management functions.

Dr. David Myers closes out the conference on the subject of accountability and performance measurement. Participants will learn the value of data, how it is gathered and ultimately used to account for, market and sustain the agency or their programs long term
